What I like best about working at La Puerta Abierta is reading my favorite children’s stories with students. Three things that make me happy are ripe mangos, taking long walks, and baking with my three-year-old daughter Emma.

I like working at La Puerta Abierta because I am a trained teacher and
I enjoy sharing my skills with my own community. At the library, I get to work with children of all different ages. Three things that make me happy are reading stories with my daughter Leah, embroidering, and visiting with family and friends.

Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of working as a teacher.
Now that I work at La Puerta Abierta, I feel that my dream has come
true! I love having lots of “amigos ninos.” Three things that make
me happy are spending time with my family, talking with my friends,
and playing with my younger siblings at home.
Candelaria - Traveling Library Coordinator
My work at La Puerta Abierta fills me with joy. I enjoy working with
children and I also like to collaborate with the teachers at our
center. Three things make me happy are going to church, making
beaded jewelry, and hanging out with my good friends.
